It's strange how a single thought whispered to you years ago.
And never repeated.
Can still bring awesomeness to you years later.
The thought I'm about to share with you had almost no impact when I first heard it decades ago, but has resonated like a fog horn blasting in my face lately.
Treat your friends as strangers and strangers as friends.
Take a deep breath for me and reread that one or two more times.
It took me twenty years to digest that simple idea.
Take real, concentrated interest in your friends.
Really ask them how they're doing.
And really listen to the answer.
Learn something new about them.
Give Strangers Immediate Trust.
and Laugh with them.
As if you've known them for years.
At the end of the night, you’ll know something new about an old friend.
